Cross Country from Uralla to Manilla
This ride explores some of the Western Slopes, mostly on minor sandy surface granite roads. It descends through a Range of granite boulder country and through some red hills with unusual vegetation on them. We cross the Macdonald River and then at the foot of the Range rejoin it where it becomes the Namoi River. This is true goanna country and there are a number of surprises in the landforms and farms to make an interesting trip.
We stop in Manilla for lunch and return by different roads through relatively remote villages and a nice piece of tar road to finish.
This run takes us over 200kms and probably six hours along great roads you would not normally travel.
